Who does it benefit?
Active women and men ...those needing feature correction; people with allergies to make-up ...athletes ...the vision impaired ...alopecia sufferers ...those looking for a natural look - or those looking for something more dramatic …those wanting to save time not having to apply make up every day.
How is it done?
Like traditional tattooing, sterilized, disposable needles are used to implant cosmetic tattoo pigment beneath the basal (top) layer of the skin enhancing natural features.
Does it hurt?
The sensation can be unnerving. Topical anesthetic takes away most of the pain, however it can be uncomfortable at times.
How long does it take?
Procedures can take between 30 and 2 hours depending on the area of the body to be worked on. The most important part of all the procedures is the artwork and the choosing of the colours, both of which require approval by the client.
How soon will the results be visible?
Cosmetic tattoos, like regular tattoos will always be darkest right after the procedure. Lips will lose 70% of their colour while other areas will lose up to 30% of their pigment. The actual result will be visible within 3 to 6 weeks after the procedure. We ask all clients to come in for a check up 3 weeks after the procedure. Adjustments can not be made until at least 3 weeks after initial procedure.
How long will it last?
How long a cosmetic tattoo will last depends on the skin and regular activity of the client. Clients who exfoliate often, suntan regularly or who get facials and or facial peels will lose their colour more quickly. Re-enhancements are recommended for maintenance anywhere from 3 to 10 years after initial procedure.
What about allergies?
Anyone concerned about having an allergic reaction can request an allergy test. Allergy tests are performed using the colours that will be used during the procedure and are usually done in the scalp in the hairline or in the corner of the lip. Red pigment is the most likely to cause allergic reactions. There will be a small fee for allergy tests.
What does it cost?
Fees may vary according to the procedure and will be determined during your consultation. A general pricelist follows;
- Eyebrows $400
- Eyeliner $300
- Full lips $500
- Lipliner $150
- Beauty marks $50
